Notification Issues

Starting in August 2013, our email system could not keep up with the volume we reached.  To accommodate that volume, over the past few months we made significant updates to our email system.  With those upgrades some bugs were introduced that we are working out.  The new system will allow us to handle much greater volumes of emails and track deliverability and ensure your notifications are delivered in a timely manner.

Released

  1. The site gets very slow in any location where an email is sent. 
  2. Mass emails are sent from messaging@arbitersports.com.  It should be from the assigner's email address.
  3. Official reminder emails do not include partners or contacts.
  4. Email to admins doesn't send when an official marks them as an assigning association during registration.
  5. Reminder emails were not sending or were delayed.
  6. If there is a pending change (if integrated with ArbiterGame), the reminder email to officials displays the previous information.
  7. Users with a comma in their name do not receive emails.
  8. TBA times show as 12:01 on game change emails.
  9. Assigning or unassigning an official with no email throws an error if set to published, notified, or accepted.
  10. ArbiterLive emails not sending


Released 1/22/2014

  1. New game emails do not display which group it is from.
  2. No new game text being sent.
  3. Text message for changed games not being sent.
  4. Turnback email is missing formatting.
  5. Turnback email does not include reason for turnback.
  6. After changing a game, if you choose to unassign the official it sends them the game change email instead of an unassign notice.
  7. For some accounts, when the accept by date passes officials are not removed and an email isn't sent to the admin.
  8. Welcome email to admins throws an application error.

In Development

  1. Emails not sending when an official completes an evaluation.
  2. Reminder emails for evaluations not sending.
  3. No license reminder is sent 2 days before the account will expire.

    We released an update last night for officials game reminder emails. They were severely delayed and we put an enhancement in place and they have caught up.

    Released an update on the accept-by-date enforcement and email to admins. It was only working for about 1/3 of clients but should now be working for everyone.

    Assignors, officials, schools -- we're all in this as a team. The Arbiter is a vendor for all of us. Therefore, I suggest all assignors circulate the Arbiter's contact information (support@thearbiter.net; (801) 576-9436) and have each school that's negatively affected by the Arbiter's negligence e-mail and call them. Has anyone thought of starting a Facebook page about these ongoing problems?

    @Gary -- While I understand how frustrating this is, we work to help assigners, officials, and schools. We are in this with our clients and our entire team is working tirelessly to respond to clients and fix the issues with the site.

    I am the Secretary of a 250-member baseball association in Southern California. I have a time sensitive email to send out and I've been trying all afternoon. Can't get it done. Have rebooted and everything. Only page I can navigate to in less than 15 minutes is this one. When the heck are you going to have this fixed?

    I sent two messages to all our officials yesterday (07/15/14), one from work and one from home, I sent a copy of them to me, I did received the copy but my messages were never delivered to the officials, can you help? my Group ID # is 101839. Thanks

    Antonio -- We had an issue with our mass emails starting this week and we put out a hot fix last night. You should be all squared away. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    I am not receiving the reminder emails for games assigned. I receive the new games email, but after accepting I don't ever see a reminder email. Is there a setting that I accidentally turned off?

    Actually, I don't believe I've gotten any reminder emails yet for any games that I've been assigned for the last 2 months. I'm assigned for two games this saturday, and I'll update if I see anything from those. Seeing as I haven't gotten anything yet this hockey season, I don't expect to see anything.

    No one in our group is receiving game reminder emails either. This is our first year using Arbiter, so I'm wondering if there is a setting that we accidentally turned off or something. I've spent about two hours wading through help and community articles and scouring the site, but I can't find anything. Also, the one mass email I attempted to send out to our officials didn't reach anyone.

    I receive emails saying I have been invited to an event and to login at Arbitersports.com. When I log in and look at my schedule, there is no event listed for me to accept or decline. This has happened on many occasions in the past and recently I have discovered I am missing meetings, especially with my LCAOA account.
